After the incident with the robot and Imagay, Mello took it easy for a while and relaxed on a desert island in the region of Cotton Candy. The island had trees filled with pink cotton candy and the snad was made of small yellow Haribo bears. We all know color wasn’t Mellos favorite thing, especially not pink, but the thing about this island was that, the rocks were made of our hero Mellos favorite chocolate.
 But actually, Mello had another reason to go there than to relax. He wanted to know what happened to his best friend Matt, who had suddenly disappeared from that very island! So after a week or so, he started exploring the island while trying to figure it out. After going through the jungle a few times, always with chocolate close to him, he discovered a cave in the middle of it all, that was made of real rock. He figured that out, while he was trying to eat it, since he thought it was another piece of chocolate for him to feast on.
 After thinking through the possibility that Matt could be in that cave, he went in. It was pitch dark and he almost fell down after every step he took. But he was not going to turn around and abandon his loyal friend, who’d die for him without second thoughts. He walked for a while, and suddenly he was at a place that looked like it was outside, but he was sure that he was still inside the cave. There was a cage in the middle of the clearing he had come to, and inside the cage was..
 It was not Matt, as we would have hoped, instead it was a bloody black unicorn. What the hell is this about, Mello thought, did I fall down and hit my head again?
 Mello was getting annoyed and ate a piece of chocolate while he, our hero, posed in a way he thought was cool. Mello looked at the unicorn. It had eyes that reminded him of something.
- Does unicorns talk? he asked himself out loud.
- They don’t, really, the unicorn answered.
Mello was in his own world so it took a while for him to understand what had happened, but when he finally understood, he screamed; what the hell, to the unicorn.
- Mello, take it easy, the unicorn said.
- H-how do you know my name?
- I know because, the unicorn started but before it could finish the sentence there was a spear that went right through its head.
The unicorn collapsed in the cave and a boy jumped down from a tree and stared at Mello.
- Mello, is that you? the boy asked.
Mello just stared at him, he was unable to speak.
- It is you! How could I not know? Even though you seem to have gained a few pounds.. Maybe you should stop eating so much chocolate, the boy laughed.
- You fucking dick! Where’s Matt? Where is he, Near? Mello demanded.
Near just smiled.
- Matt is, at this instant, with Geovanni, Near said after a while with a big smile on his face.
- Near, why are you doing this?
- This is payback, for the time you laughed at me when you saw me in a dress. The time I was working undercover with Geovanni and you saw us walking on the street.. And when I say working undercover, I mean under the cover.
- Near, this isin’t like you, Mello said as he was trying to come up with a plan.
- Well, a lot has changed, hasn’t it? Near said with a smug face.
Mello didn’t answer. Of course a lot has changed, they weren’t kids anymore, he thought.
Since Mello didn’t answer anything, Near continued; how far are you going to go for that bastard?
What happened to Near, Mello wanted to know. He wasn’t like this before. Not before L died.
Mello knew he didn’t have time to think about it right now. He came to get Matt, and that was what he was going to do.
- I can’t believe you rested for a week before you started looking. Why? Aren’t you ashamed of yourself?
Mello didn’t say anything, he knew he should have started right away. While Near was still talking, he took the gun he hid in his boot and pointed it at Near.
- Just tell me where he is, and I won’t kill you.. Today.
Near just laughed in a crazy sort of way, kind of like Imagay used to.
- I’m serious! Mello screamed.
- My dear Mello, I know you don’t have the guts for it.
Our hero, and hopefully Matts, got so annoyed that he pulled the trigger. The bullet went through Nears shoulder.
- What the hell did you do, stupid! Near screamed, but Mello was already out of sight.
 Mello was running as fast as he could, searching for Matt. After running for what felt like forever, Mello reached a new looking big house. There was a light turned on, and he could hear voices.
Talk about  discreet, he thought to himself before he went to a window and looked inside.
There he saw Matt. He was tied up and had bruises all over his face. Behind him stood Geovanni, that seemed to be talking to him. Mello couldn’t hear the words clearly.
Alright, I’ve found him, what now, he thought, I need to go in, get him and get away again. He looked how many bullets he had left. Three. He couldn’t afford to miss, and he had to injure Geovanni badly, since he didn’t know if he also had a gun. He looked at the front door, it seemed easy to kick down. He went to stand infront of it, and took a deep breath.
 Mello kicked in the door, pointed the gun at Geovanni and told him to untie Matt. Geovanni just looked at Mello first, but then he did as he said. Matt stood up, he trembled and seemed weak. Mellos plan to run away blew away like the wind. How was he going to get away now?
 Matt took a hold of Mello and tried to get him to come with him. Mello shot Geovanni in the leg, who screamed. Then he went out of the door with Matt, whos hand was now on his shoulder for support.
- Are you okay, can you run? Mello asked.
Matt just nodded and they started running again, only this time it was much slower than before.
 After a while Mello could hear footsteps behind them. They hid behind a bush to see who it was. It was Geovanni, who this time had Near with him.
- You can just leave me here and go alone, Matt told Mello.
- I won’t leave without you, Mello replied, I’ll think of something.
 But as Mello had feared, his mind was blank, all he could think of was..
- Matt, stay low, okay? he said.
- What are you planning to.. Matt didn’t need to finish his sentence before he understood what was going on. Mello was using his last resort.
- I’m sorry Near, he whispered and then he fired the gun twice, and then he threw it away, it was useless now.
 He peeked from the bushes, and there they lied, Near and Geovanni, both of them shot in the head.
 If i haven’t mentioned this earlier, our hero Mello was a hell of a shooter.
 Mello helped Matt up, and they started walking back to the place where the cage with the dead unicorn was. After a while Matt asked Mello if he really knew which way they were supposed to go, but Mello didn’t answer, since he had no idea of where they even where. Not until he saw trails of blood on the ground.
 After seeing the blood, Mello knew he was going in the right direction. And a few minutes later, he could see the cage.
- We’re almost there, he said to Matt.
Matt looked at the cage and stiffened.
- Oh no, Matt whispered, it can’t be.
He tried to run to the cage, but ended up walking slowly. When he was there, he sat down beside the unicorn in silence. Mello didn’t understand what was happening.
- This black unicorn, Matt started in a low voice, he was the black unicorn of despair. He was my friend, and I asked him to wait here so you’d have someone to tell you what was going on in here. But it seems like they got him.
- He did greet me, Mello answered, he even knew my name. But Near got to him before he could tell me anything else.
A tear ran down Matts cheek, and he whispered; I will never forget you, before he stood up and went to stand beside Mello.
- Let’s go, Mello said and Matt nodded sadly.
 They went through the cave and once again there Mello was at the deserted island, and there he took a piece of chocolate and shoved it into his mouth.
- Why was Near acting so weird? he asked with his mouth filled with chocolate.
- It wasn’t really Near. It was a exact clone created by Imagay just before he died. I don’t know where the real Near is, or Geovanni.
- Well, that explains a lot, Mello said while he was getting some more chocolate, let’s get back to the main land, shall we Matt?
- Yes, I’d like that, he said smiling.
 They walked to the boat that Mello came there with in the first place, and sailed back home. When they were at a safe distance, Mello blew the whole place up with the explosives he had put there during the first week he was there.
- Always overdoing it, Matt said and sighed.
